CLIA Certified Genetic Testing
Personalized medicine often requires physicians to know a patient’s genetic and epigenetic makeup in order to make informed medical decisions tailored to the individual.
Each of EpigenDx’s genetic tests is validated, FDA-approved and CLIA-certified. Pathologists can send in samples for the genetic or epigenetic testing of particular genes and can use this data for personalized treatment plans or clinical research.

List of Diagnostic Tests
KRAS Mutation Test
This test detects seven common KRAS mutations in colorectal cancer patients, using the FDA-approved therascreen® KRAS RGQ Kit from Qiagen. This test indicates which patients with metastatic colorectal cancer may benefit from anti-EGFR drugs, such as ERBITUX. We accept formalin-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissue sections or isolated DNA for diagnostic testing. For more information, see this press release.
MGMT Methylation Test
This test detects methylation levels in the MGMT promoter of glioblastoma patients, using a simple Pyrosequencing assay. The methylation of the MGMT promoter indicates which patients with glioblastoma may benefit from alkylating chemotherapy.
LINE-1 Methylation Test
This test detects methylation levels in the LINE-1 transposable element, using a simple Pyrosequencing assay. The methylation of LINE-1 elements indicates which patients are subject to genomic instability. Low methylation levels are associated with the erratic copying and transposing of unmethylated LINE-1 elements across the genome, resulting in many malignancies.
